Pomegranate Molasses (Nomah)

Pomegranate molasses is a widely-used staple in Middle Eastern cuisine, especially in the Levant region, where acidity is highly appreciated in many recipes. 

The juice of very ripe pomegranates is slowly cooked down to create a delicious sweet and sour syrup.

Its fruity, slightly astringent flavor enhances both sweet and savoury dishes, marinades for meat or fish, sauces (especially caramelized ones), and salad dressings (as a substitute for balsamic vinegar).
