Blackberry Syrup (Terroirs du Liban)

Blackberry syrup is made from concentrated blackberry juice, sugar, and citric acid.

In Lebanon, mulberry trees are linked to the heyday of silk production. From 1872 to 1910, silk production was considered the mainstay of the Lebanese economy. Most Lebanese families raised silkworms at home and therefore cultivated mulberry trees in their gardens.

The mulberry is a delicate fruit that is a good source of vitamins and iron. In Lebanon, blackberry syrup is considered the quintessential refreshing summer drink.

Produced in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley by a cooperative made up primarily of women.
