This foldable olive wood backgammon board with olive wood game pieces is handmade in Bethlehem. The outside of the box can be used for chess games.

Olive wood — along with olive oil — has been one of the most important Palestinian resources since time immemorial and has also been representing a big share of Palestinian exports. 

For many artisans in Palestine – especially in the Bethlehem area – crafting objects from olive wood has been a main source of income, carving the wood by hand with only basic tools but utmost dedication and skill.
