Description

In the West Bekaa Valley, the Bustros family planted its first vines near the village of Kefraya in 1951, and has been producing wine and arak since 1979.

Château Kefraya now cultivates 300 hectares of vineyards on the foothills of Mount Barouk, at an altitude of 1000 meters. The Yammouneh fault, which crosses the vineyards, makes for a diversity of terroirs, namely clay-limestone, clay-chalk as well as sandy and gravelly soils. In this environment, the vines grow exposed to the sun all year-round without irrigation, at low density.

The winery grows a range of grapes, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay or Viognier, as well as some more unusual — Carménère, Marselan or Muscat à Petits Grains — and several autochthonous varieties, such as Obeideh, Merwah or Assouad Karech.

Arak Kefraya is a premium arak made exclusively from Château Kefraya's own grapes and distilled 4 times.
