Upcycled Cloud Pillow

Produced by women from the "Zabaleen" community — Cairo's informal garbage collectors — as part of a project empowering women into making an own income, this adorable happy cloud is both soft pillow for your child to sleep on, as well as a new favourite mascot.

Founded in 1997, the Association for the Protection of the Environment in Moqattam, Cairo, teaches more than 250 young women how to sort, design, cut, sew,  weave, iron and recycle fabrics collected from textile mills and factories into patchwork quilts, bedspreads, rugs, bags, and many more items such as this cloud pillow and the stuffed animals we propose. 

Shababik buys the items from Fair Trade Egypt who has been an important partner for APE, providing them with a stable financial flow.
